Counter Trafficking Initiative

Freedom from sex slavery is not a one-day-event.

For a woman to be truly free from the horrific world of trafficking, she often needs to receive intensive trauma therapy and short-term financial help. Traffickers heavily manipulate women they are prostituting with intense psychological and emotional abuse. Poverty, debt, and complex trauma are all leading causes of women being taken advantage of and trafficked. Dwell works with experienced partners to help support women after they have been rescued and resolve these vulnerabilities so that rescued women remain free. Our field partners serve women rescued from brothels as well as women who were once kidnapped and forced to be ISIS brides. Please help us ensure recently rescued girls have a place to stay, receive trauma care, and find employment. Beyond taking care of these women’s basic needs, we also partner with local women to give grants and micro loans for them to start businesses to support themselves and their children.
